You are not Alone

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

You are not Alone

A devotional for January 17th through the 23rd

Do you often feel alone?  We all do from time to time.  Especially when times are rough.  When we are going through something painful, scary, troubling, we tend to feel alone.  These are the times when we tend to question God. This is when we ask “why”.

It is important during these times to remember; you are not alone.  It may seem like God is not there.  It may seem like He has forsaken you.  He has not, and will not.  God is there, always.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

Psalm 23:4 NKJV

We need to remember this verse and repeat it.  Find comfort in knowing God is there.  God is walking with you through every dark storm.  It may be hard to know that He is there, but He is.  His arms are there to comfort you.  He knows what you are going through and He knows you will be stronger for it.  He hopes you grow through it and wants you to be drawn to Him.  Pray to Him and He will give you strength.  If the results of the dark storm are not the kind you hope for, He will be there to comfort you.

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you.

Isaiah 43:2 NKJV

If we have faith in God and trust in Him, He will always be right there beside us.  There are stories in the Bible that show God being right there during times of trouble such as when Daniel’s three friends were thrown into the fire.  They were not alone in the fire and they came through unburned.  Keep faith in God and He will see you through all the storms and troubles that life throws at you.  The rewards you will receive when Jesus returns are greater than any of the storms this life will send your way.  Just remember, you are not alone, God is with us!
