So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase.
Have you ever noticed how out of an area that you would not expect, there is some kind of plant growing? Such as a crack in the sidewalk? Or maybe an area that has had construction equipment driving and trampling down everything in its wake? Still, with all the hardships and struggles, a plant still grows. The plants grow because of God. God can grow anything, anywhere, even in places we may not expect.
We need to plant seeds, good seeds, everywhere we go. A kind deed witnessed by someone we didn’t know was watching. An encouraging word to someone who is down. It doesn’t have to be anything huge, just something simple, God inspired. By planting these little seeds, God will use them and grow them.
When a seed is planted in someone’s mind or heart, we need to pray for God to rain down on that seed and make it grow. Only God can truly tend to the small seed and turn it into a beautiful, flourishing plant. Even reading a verse in the Bible plants a seed in your mind. Read God’s word and pray for Him to give you understanding as well as the boldness to use it. Better yet, plant a seed with someone else then pray for God to grow that seed!
God wants us to plant seeds, encouraging others, being kind, helping, and praying. He will take those seeds and help them to grow. We just need to keep planting them until they take root and then sit back and watch what God can do. God is so great! His power can grow love in a cold heart with the proper planting and nourishment! Jesus wants there to be a great harvest ready for Him to reap when He returns! Let’s go plant seeds!
And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to Him who sat on the cloud, “Thrust in Your sickle and reap, for the time has come for You to reap, for the harvest of the earth is ripe.”
