The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. And those who know Your name will put their trust in You; For You, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You.

Psalm 9:9-10 NKJV

Midweek thoughts

Have you had a time where things just didn’t go right?  No matter what you tried to do, you felt nothing but downtrodden, hurt, you just couldn’t get things to work out right?  We often find ourselves in times of trouble.  Times when things just don’t quite go how we think they should.  Times where we feel discouraged, sad, just plain troubled.  These are the times where we need to remember the Lord is our “refuge in times of trouble”.

When things look bleak, difficult, impossible to handle, those are the times we need to focus on God.  By turning to God, focusing on Him, praying and talking with Him, we can find strength and refuge.  Those are the times we should put more effort into reaching out for God and holding onto His truths.  Finding refuge with God, you find strength and peace.

God will not forsake those who look for Him, those who turn toward Him with a heavy heart.  Give your burdens to God.  He will take them from you.  He will give you rest, comfort, and peace.  The impossible is possible with God.  The things of this world are temporary.  Seek His truths in the Bible, hold onto His truths, and accept what God has to offer.  An eternity of peace and love.

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

2 Corinthians 5:17 NKJV
