These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.
Do you feel weighed down by difficulties, struggles, trials, and worry? Does it sometimes seem like there is no way out, no hope? Do you wonder when things will get better or look up? We all often have these feelings and more. Life in this world has a way of throwing so much at us we often don’t see the light. Stay strong! Look to our savior and you will find strength.
John 16:33 gives me comfort. Jesus said these words so long ago. They are just as true today as they were then. Our savior gave so much. He suffered through all the same temptations as we do and more. He was beaten, spit at, cursed, pierced, and died on a cross. He died a horrible death we can’t even imagine. He did this for us, all of us. By doing this, he overcame the world and offers us the eternal gift of peace.
The Bible tells us, in so many ways, to give our hearts to God and accept Jesus as our savior. Form a relationship with Him. Read His word, study, pray, turn over everything to Him. By building a relationship with Him, His love will shine through us and our actions. We will find peace in His word. An eternity of peace with no more sin. What a wonderful promise God gives us. Reach for it, take it, and rest in His loving arms in peace.
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
