These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.
Where do you look? Do you look at the world around you and put your focus there? Do you look out and see wealth, beauty, possessions, recognition, awards, and all that is around us every day? Or have you tried changing your view? A change in view can make so much difference.
Instead of focusing on the world around us, look up. Look toward our Heavenly Father. More and more I am working on looking up instead of around me. I am realizing each and every day that everything I see in front of me or around me is temporary. It’s fleeting. Nothing in this life, in this world, will last.
Going after riches or awards in this world do nothing. Our time here is limited. None of this will last. However, looking up toward God and all His promises gives me just a hint of what really matters. The best there is. Peace and love for eternity. An eternity with my Heavenly Father. That is something to invest in. That is something that will last.
Spend some time reading His promises, work on your relationship with Him. The riches He offers are beyond measure and an eternity with peace and love sounds so much better than anything I see around me. The very best is yet to be!
