For the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God.
Do you sometimes slip into feelings of anger? We all do. I have tried to refrain from this for some time, but it still happens. It can happen to anyone. We are going about our day and suddenly, something annoys us. If we are not careful, we can slip further and further into a full-on angry moment.
Once we hit that full-on angry outburst, our behavior becomes very ugly. I know mine has. Then I quickly ended up feeling so depressed about my actions. This is how it happens. We get annoyed, we let it build, we behave in a way that is just plain ugly, then we feel so bad about how we behaved. We feel ashamed of behaving in such an ugly manner.
God doesn’t want us to be angry, the devil does. The devil thrives on nudging us into anger. God wants us to remain calm and turn it all over to Him. God will take care of it. All anger does is cause us to behave in terrible ways, ugly ways. It also hurts us. Physically our bodies begin to not feel so good because of allowing the anger to build. We need to let it go and let God handle it. Then we begin to heal.
Confessing to God about our sin, turning it all over to Him, begins to heal our hearts. We need to forgive ourselves the same way God forgives us. Confess, ask for forgiveness, and turn it all over to Him. Once we do that, peace returns to our heart. It may be something we need to continually do, continually ask for God’s help, but it does pass and peace returns. That is what God promises, peace.
Accept God’s peace, calm your heart, turn it all over to him before the ugly part of anger comes out. God is so great, and His peace is divine!
