And God said, “See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food. Also, to every beast of the earth, to every bird of the air, and to everything that creeps on the earth, in which there is life, I have given every green herb for food”; and it was so. Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
The Garden at Creation
Thinking about creation and the Garden of Eden, I had several things that came to mind. I had not really thought about it quite like I did this weekend. I was even having a discussion with my husband last night and thought about this. Think about it, think about the Garden of Eden. Think about creation. Read those parts of Genesis and think about it.
In the garden, at creation, there was no color of skin. No black, white, brown, yellow, whatever shade of skin color you want to mention. There was none mentioned. It didn’t matter. There was also no religion. No Catholic, Protestant, Jewish, Muslim, Christian, or any of the many others that are out there today. There were no labels. There were just people and God amongst the beauty of nature.
There in that beautiful, perfect garden, God created the Sabbath. A time for rest and to spend your time with Him. No work, no having to do anything, just loving God and communing with Him. Peace. Love. The Garden of Eden was perfect. It was what God wanted, love. Perfection and Love. He created us in His image. That image is love.
Today, we are labeled in so many ways. We are separated. There is anger, hate, and judgement from one to another. The world we see today has so many buildings, noise, and people angry at one another. People looking out for themselves instead of others.
Let us all turn back to that perfect garden. Let us go back to the peace and love, one for another. I know soon, sooner than we know, Jesus will return. And when He does, He will bring back peace. He will bring back that beautiful garden. There will be love once again for all, not just a select few.
Praise God for His promise and His soon return!
