A man’s heart plans his way, But the Lord directs his steps.

Proverbs 16:9 NKJV

Midweek thoughts

I receive daily thoughts from a friend and today's I thought I would add some to and use for these thoughts.  Sometimes it's the little things like a text that get your mind going.

Our hearts plan our ways, but the Lord directs our steps, our path.  We need to listen to Him and not to follow where our hearts lead.

As we pray and read the word of God, we can hear His small still voice communicate to us.  He is teaching us to set our minds on Him, tuning out distractions through the help of the Holy Spirit.

Responding to Jesus, rather than trying to make things fit into our plans, we grow more toward Him.  He died to set us free from sin, and from being controlled by the enemy.

When our minds take control and overwhelm us with a multitude of thoughts, we cannot hear God’s voice.  We are called to deny ourselves; listen to Jesus and live abundantly.  This is what God wants for us!  To walk down the right path, we must listen to the voice of God as he directs our steps.

By quieting our minds, opening our hearts to the Lord, we start taking the steps needed to enter into God’s peace.  What a perfect peace that is!
