Speak God

Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’

Isaiah 41:10 NKJV

Midweek thoughts

Do you ask God to use you?  I know I do.  I have often prayed for God to use me however He best wants to.  I see articles, stories, and sermons where I hear about God using people to work for His good.  I love stories like that.  They warm my heart.  I love people seeing God at work and being pointed to God.  I often wonder though if He has a plan for me.  If He is using me in some way.  The other day I was reminded that we don’t always know our impact.  God still sent me a whisper letting me know that He has been hearing my prayers and I will not always know what He is doing.

I was talking to a co-worker.  She has been dealing with a lot in the time I have known her, and this year has had its challenges.  She is facing surgery tomorrow and I have already been praying for strength, comfort, and healing.  The other day she messaged me (we work remotely so talk through teams).  She told me she figured out why I was in her life and asked if I wanted to hear it.  I said I did.  Then God whispered.

She said “I am having a really hard time trusting God and being able to trust that He is in control, but I have trusted you from day 1 and you remind me of that when I go off course.  I cannot thank you enough for following Christ so tight.  I wish I could.  You are in my life to help me with that.”  Did you hear God’s whisper?

It was like God was saying to me “see, I am using you, in little ways.  And those little ways are very big to Me” I suddenly realized that the simple little things, like reminding people that God is in control, are very important to God.  When we take the time to tell a friend “I’ll pray for you”, or “I know God is with you”, it means so much more for them and for God.

Take time every day to speak God.  A brief word saying you are praying for someone will do miracles for them and for you!
