And there will be great earthquakes in various places, and famines and pestilences; and there will be fearful sights and great signs from heaven.
Signs. We often miss the signs. We were driving along and noticed someone make a sudden move that was a bit dangerous. They almost missed their exit because they didn’t see the sign. We often don’t see the signs saying the lane is closing and to merge over. There are signs everywhere but how often do we miss seeing the signs? This can put us in a dangerous situation.
There are other signs that we also need to pay attention as well. They are the signs mentioned in the Bible. Matthew 24:6 says “And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet” (NKJV). Many things going on in the world today fit in this verse. It is just beginning. There will be so much more that will be coming. Matthew 24:8 says “All these are but the beginning of the birth pains” (ESV). We need to pay attention to the signs!
Jesus will be coming again, sooner than we know. We need to be prepared. Many people are ignoring the signs, they are not preparing. Many people think there is plenty of time and they are more concerned with things of the world and they are not preparing for Jesus’ return. We need to concentrate on the Bible, prepare our hearts, turn it all over to God. Prepare for Jesus’ soon coming. Repent and prepare your hearts for the Holy Spirit. Know that God is in control and the things of this world mean nothing. Jesus means life everlasting!
