Part of His Family

Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of His household,

Ephesians 2:19 NIV

Midweek thoughts

This verse has so much meaning to it. Read the verse, look at each section.  Think about what this means for you, your family, your friends, your neighbors, even the stranger you pass in the store.  It’s a profound meaning.

We, yes we, are no longer foreigners and strangers.  We are known and in a way that we cannot comprehend.  We are known deeply, to our very core.  There is nothing He does not know about us.  Even our deep, dark secrets we want no one else to know, He knows.  He loves us anyway.

He knows everything about us, and He welcomes us to be joined, adopted into His family.  He wants us to be members of His household.  We are to all be together, part of His family, His children.  Through the blood of Jesus, we can make that choice to be joined to Him for all eternity.

“Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God!...” 1 John 3:1 NKJV

We are a part of the best and biggest family there is.  The family of God.
