Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.
Another year begins. Another year full of opportunities. Today we started the year off simply. My husband went to our church in the morning with one of our friends to put up 3 new lights. They do what they can when they can to fix up the church. It is always so appreciated! When they were done, my husband, our friend, and the friend’s wife (also a friend) came to our house for a meal and fellowship.
We enjoyed a delicious meal then sat at the table and played cards for a few hours. We joked, kidded each other, laughed, and simply enjoyed each other’s company. Nothing elaborate. Not a large group. No fancy party. Just the 4 of us enjoying time together.
There are many opportunities that each year offers. It’s important not to miss the opportunities that God puts before us. Each day is filled with various opportunities. Then there are those times when the opportunity put before us is simple, maybe even small in our eyes. Sometimes the opportunity is one to just be present with a good friend, or friends.
I look forward to all the opportunities God puts before me in the coming year. I pray for God to direct me and show me where and what He wants from me, no matter how small. I pray I don’t miss any of the opportunities He puts in my path and that in it all, I glorify Him.
