Lemonade

The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.

Midweek thoughts

There is a saying, “when life gives you lemons, make lemonade!”.  I don’t know who said it originally or where it originated from, but I know I have heard it a time or two.  Sometimes life gets crazy, so much so that your head feels like it is just spinning.  Sometimes there are so many things from so many directions that we just don’t know the best way to go.  So, the saying goes to take those sour lemons life gives you and make something sweet out of it, lemonade!

It makes sense to me, but I feel there is something missing.  While we can take lemons and make lemonade, we can’t take all the sour things of life and make them sweet without something else, something sweeter than sugar.  We need God’s love.  We need to stop, take a deep breath, pray, and let Him work.

When life gets crazy, He can lead to a straight path.  If we keep asking in prayer for Him to guide us, for the Holy Spirt to be given, for wisdom to make the right decisions, He will lead.  Sometimes it might take a little bit of time, sometimes it happens like a whirlwind, but He is there!

Keep praying, know that He is with us through all situations.  By keeping Him close and continuing the communication with Him, He will be right there with us through it all.  He will continue to guide.

So, when life gives you lemons, sweeten them with God’s love and turn them into something wonderful.
