Judgement is His

For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God?

Midweek Thoughts

Tonight, my husband and I went to a friend’s home to go over our Sabbath School lesson.  We like to do this as we get to visit her outside of church and the discussion is often quite good and thought provoking.  We read different parts, answer the questions, and discuss.  We often share thoughts that we have that come up during the study.

We stopped periodically and discussed the various parts of the study.  We talked about Abraham going over the parts of the Bible that talk about Sodom and Gomorrah.  We talked about intercessory prayer and how important it is and how we all wished we would pray more often.  We also talked about our fears of those we love not being saved.

We shared about praying for our loved ones and worrying that some seem so far away from the Lord.  Our friend mentioned how devastating it would be to not have certain members of her family with her when Jesus returns.  This got me thinking and sharing.

We don’t know who will be saved and who will not.  We know not everyone will be saved.  God gave us all free will, and many will make the wrong choice, choosing to turn away from God.  God knows the heart better than any of us and only He knows who will live in eternity, and who will have an eternal separation and not exist anymore.

Just like Abraham when He saw that Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed and only Lot and his two daughters were saved, we must also submit to the will of God and accept His judgement as righteous.
