I Believe

He who believes in the Son of God has the witness in himself; he who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed the testimony that God has given of His Son.

1 John 5:10 NKJV

Midweek Thoughts

I tend to spend a lot of time contemplating scenarios.  Some people think of it as worrying but really, I am not worried about anything, just going through different scenarios so I can be prepared for any possible outcome.  Sometimes there are still surprises and things I did not anticipate and was not as prepared for, but it does help me to plan, and problem solve.  To try and not have a surprise that I don’t like.  I’m still not prepared for every situation but it’s nice to have some idea as to how to at least try and prepare.

One of the things that I think a great deal about is Jesus’ second coming.  There are people who don’t believe Jesus will come again.  There are people who don’t believe He came the first time.  There are people who don’t believe all the stories in the Bible and don’t see how any of it could have happened.  There are doubters.  There are people who believe but don’t think about their day-to-day activities as coming into play.  I choose to believe He will come again, and soon.

I also believe it is something we need to contemplate often.  We need to plan and prepare.  Just as the parable in the Bible that talks about the 10 virgins (Matthew 25:1-12), we need to decide which side we are on and prepare.  We don’t want to get caught in the things of this world and lose sight of the greatest thing that will ever happen.  I prefer the idea of preparing for His soon coming.  If He doesn’t come again, I have lost nothing.  But when He comes again, I will gain everything!  But I must be prepared.

Pray, study, listen to His voice.  He will guide you through every situation leading straight to His everlasting peace.
