He’s There

Cast your burden on the Lord, and He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.

Psalm 55:22 NKJV

A devotion for December 10th through the 16th

Sometimes we go through difficult times.  Some situations bring us down really low and are hard to get through.  Sometimes, many times, it isn’t any hard, specific situation, it’s just life.  Sometimes just going through life in this world can be hard and can bring us down, struggling with our thoughts and trying to juggle everything thrown at us.  Sometimes we take on too much, forgetting we can say no.

Many times, these up and down emotions can happen several times in just one day.  There are good moments and then those moments when our thoughts and emotions get the best of us and we just want to scream, cry, or hide.  Maybe even any combination of the three.  I know this happens to me and I’m sure I am not alone.

I have recently been reminded it is okay to say no.  I have also been reminded that God is there.  He sees us at our highest points.  He sees us at our lowest.    He is there, always, even when we don’t think He is.  He knows what we are going through, and He knows the struggles.  He knows our battles.  He wants us to completely surrender them all to Him.  Completely surrender.  That’s the hard part.

It can be hard to completely let go and give whatever it is to God.  We always feel like there is something we should be doing or something we are doing wrong.  There is some small aspect we just don’t totally let go of, but that is exactly what we need to do.  It’s something I am still working on.  Letting go and letting God work.

He is right there with us.  He knows.  Talk with Him, ask Him to help, and then let Him.  He can carry our burdens away.
