I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
I have been thinking about fear today. I’ve been thinking about it for a while. I have had to face fear many times in my life. The most memorable has had to do with the times I have had to get up in front of others to speak. I don’t like doing that. I’m uncomfortable and try to avoid it. At least I used to try and avoid it. Now, I try to turn it over to God and allow Him to work in me.
My first time was in college when I had to do a presentation in front of the class. I tried to get out of it but was told I would fail if I didn’t do it. I went ahead and did it but was downgraded due to not breathing and almost passing out. Not a great experience. The next time was in another class, and I avoided it all together. I didn’t fail the class but was downgraded just a bit for not presenting.
Since then, I have not had many opportunities such as this, until I joined the church I am currently attending. God has created opportunities for me to face my fear. I still don’t like to do it and prefer not to but when asked, I will get up in front of the church to do whatever I am asked. God even had me do a sermon once. I turned bright red, and they thought I would pass out, but I made it through. Now I have an opportunity to do a presentation at work. I am so scared.
As I have done before, I am turning this over to God. I am asking Him to get me through, to help me do a decent job with the presentation. I have learned over the years that I am not able to do anything on my own, I have to turn it over to Him and ask Him to get me through, to help me with my fear. Only turning it over to Him will I accomplish anything.
Is there some fear you are dealing with? Turn it over to Him and ask Him to take it from you, to help you with it. We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us!
