Gentle Whisper

So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing.

1 Thessalonians 5:11 NLT

Midweek thoughts

Today while I was working, I suddenly felt a gentle push to type a message to my one co-worker.  I wasn’t really thinking about her or anything really, I was working.  Suddenly though it was like God gently whispering in my ear “tell her this”.  So, the next thing I knew, I was messaging her a simple statement “I’m proud of you”.

My co-worker quickly replied “why” and “what did I do?”.  I wasn’t surprised because my comment was so out of the blue.  I proceeded to tell her about how I was proud of the work she was doing.  I had noticed the day before that on the stats for our team, she was in the lead.  It was the first time she had been there.  I felt I needed to tell her I was proud of her and knew she could do it.  Everyone needs a boost now and then.

My co-worker then thanked me and told me she really needed to hear that right at that moment.  She has been dealing with a lot in her life and my saying that to her right at that moment meant something to her.  It boosted her up and made her feel better.

Many times, God whispers gently in our ear, nudges our heart.  Often, we don’t even realize it at the time.  When we act on that “feeling” and do what He wants us to do, the impact could be much greater to the other person than to ourselves.  God uses us to remind others of His love.

When you get that “feeling”, that whisper or nudge, act on it.  You never know the impact it may have on a fellow human being.
