Frustration

These things I have spoken to you so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.’

John 16:33 NASB

A devotion for January 26th through February 1st

Frustration is something we are all familiar with. I’m sure at one point or another we have all dealt with being frustrated. Maybe about something small, like trying to figure out how to properly use an app on a phone, or maybe something bigger such as with working out the best solution for a difficult situation. No matter if it’s big or small, frustration is still something that can be hard to deal with. The difficult part about dealing with frustration? The stress that can sometimes come with it.

Lately I have been dealing with a lot of frustration, and so a lot of stress. This is something I’ve been thinking about a lot the last few days because I can tell the effect it has on my health, physically and mentally. I have realized the last few days that I’m allowing it all to get the best of me. If we are not careful, frustration can lead us down a road we shouldn’t go down. One that leads away from Him. Now in the midst of the frustration I am working on spending more time with Him. Talking to Him and praying. I know it’s the best thing I can do.

In this world He said we would have “tribulation”. This world is full of trials, hardships, problems, worries, frustrations. The one thing we need to remember is He overcame this world. He paid the price. He took on everything so we could have peace. We need to remember that this world is not our home. This is a temporary visit, not the eternity God wants for us. He wants to give us peace. That is something I try to tell myself all the time. This will all end and on the other side will be peace beyond understanding.

When you are feeling frustrated and stressed remember to close your eyes, pray, and know His peace is right there for the taking. Lay it all at His feet. Remember, His promise is the greatest thing to hold onto. He will fulfill that promise. Let Him turn your frustration into peace.
