Fear

Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.

Isaiah 41:10 NKJV

A devotion for August 8th through the 14th

Fear is something that seems so prevalent in today’s world, especially over the past couple of years.  As many have noticed, things seem to be getting worse and worse each year.  Violence all around us, protests, anger towards others or towards a situation, storms, floods, earthquakes, food shortages, fires, devastation, and disease.  All around us there are so many things going on.  Many are so fearful even to leave their homes these days.  Fear has paralyzed so many.  Fear has caused depression and isolation.  So, with all these things going on, have you read your Bible?  It’s all there, including the above Bible verse.

God did not want us to live in fear.  He gives us direction; He tells us what will happen and that He will be right there with us through it all.  The best part?  He wins!  Everything going on in the world today is all foretold in the Bible.  Approximately 90% of prophecy has already come to pass.  We can look back in history and see how prophecies were written way before what they foretold actually happened.  And they did happen!  So why would you not see that the rest of the Bible would happen just as it is foretold?  It will, and we need to praise God for His promises!

We all need to be cautious.  Be observant and take precautions to try and prevent illness.  Do what we can to be a benefit to those around us.  Ultimately, do not fear.  Go forth and proclaim God’s greatness.  He has provided so much for us to trust in and look forward to.  Repent, accept God’s gift of salvation, and live your life for Him.  Jesus will return, sooner than we know it, and when He does, all promises will be fulfilled.  We will be made new and God’s kingdom will welcome us!  Hallelujah!

It won’t be long before Jesus does return.  In the meantime, have faith.  Know that He has overcome the world and His word is truth.  Praise God for His righteousness, His mercy, and His grace.  There is no need to be afraid, He is with us!

Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

John 14:27 NKJV
