Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed; Save me, and I shall be saved, For You are my praise.
I went with my husband, and a couple family members, fishing. I don’t fish with a fishing pole. I fish with my camera. I like to walk around looking for things that stand out. God’s creations. Flowers, leaves, bugs, butterflies, birds, and so on. I love getting close to my subjects if possible. Seeing the detail that God goes to for each of His creations, even the smallest, is amazing.
I happened upon a place where someone had placed a brown glass bottle that they must have used for target practice. The base of the bottle was still sitting on the post it had been placed on, with small pieces of glass shards lying next to it. It had been broken, shattered, into countless pieces. Looking at it, I could see sun glistening through the broken glass. Even shattered into all those broken pieces, I could see God shining through.
We often find ourselves broken, shattered into a million pieces, not sure we will ever be able to put ourselves back together. We can’t. But God still shines His light into our broken pieces making them beautiful once again. God takes all the pieces and gently sends His light to brighten, lead, and repair where we are broken. We just need to see where His light is touching us. Then we just need to respond to His gentle guidance.
When things of this world break us, shatter us, we need to turn it all over to Him. He will give us light, direction, strength. He will make us whole again. Only He can.
God takes all the broken pieces of our lives and puts them back together in a beautiful way so we can shine in His kingdom for all eternity.
