Believe, or Not

There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death.

Proverbs 14:12 NKJV

Midweek thoughts

Scrolling through my news feed the other day I saw a post by someone I use to work with.  She had a good-sized post about how she doesn’t understand why so many people believe in an “imaginary” man in the sky.  She went on to talk about how she “manifested” everything that has happened in her life and that it is her own energy that she has put out there.  She has no room for religion in her life.  She said, “there is no God......You are your own ‘God’”.  This has really stuck with me.  My heart is sad for her.

There are so many out there that feel this way.  They feel like they are responsible for everything in their lives and there is no divine being who has any part in it. The beliefs out there vary from completely wild to nothing but self.  This saddens me.  I don’t have angry feelings toward them, I love everyone no matter their belief.  But it does make me feel sad.

The bible states, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths” Proverbs 3:5-6 NKJV.  Our Heavenly Father does guide us even when we don’t realize.  He is always with us.  Looking back, I see so many times that God was there.  Reading His word, the picture He paints of eternity is one so glorious, we can’t even actually imagine how glorious it truly will be!  It’s beyond our understanding.

There is a quote that I have always liked: “I would rather live my life as if there is a God and die to find out there isn't, than live my life as if there isn't and die to find out there is.” by Albert Camus. This quote is so profound for me.  I take this to heart.  If I live my life as if there is one true God, and there is not, I have lost nothing.  If I live my life as if there is no God and there is, I have lost everything.

“He who trusts in his own heart is a fool, but whoever walks wisely will be delivered.” Proverbs 28:26 NKJV

Beyond this life is a glorious life with Him if we believe.  Let’s live our lives with Him.  His eternity is beyond anything we can imagine!
