I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
In the world we live in today, people are always encouraging others. I like encouraging others myself. I feel everyone needs to hear an encouraging word to help them get through the day, week, or whatever situation they are in. This world is a hard world to deal with sometimes, well most of the time. We see and hear so much that brings us down. Hearing an encouraging word is a nice change and can be uplifting.
The thing I take notice of is that most people seem to encourage others to do it for themselves. “You can do anything you put your mind to”! “You don’t need anyone else, you can do it on your own”. “Push yourself because no one else will do it for you”. Things such as this, plus many more, seem to imply we don’t need anyone else. We are capable of doing anything. We can do it all on our own. But can we?
I feel there is one thing missing from all the encouraging things said. I know I often stop myself and tell myself this same thing. “I can’t do anything on my own however, I can do anything with Him”. People often think everything good that happens they make happen all on their own. But I see that if anything good happens it is because I am leaning on Him. I can’t do anything without Him in my life. I give it all to Him because He is far more capable than I am.
Be encouraged by His word. Be uplifted by His love. Be strengthened by His promise. Hold onto Him. With Him, all things are possible.
