At the Feet of Jesus

And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus’ feet and heard His word.

Luke 10:39 NKJV

A devotion for December 1st through the 7th

This world can be so tiring.  So much to do every day. We get up, get ready for the day, go off to work, come home, cook, clean, do all the errands, run here and there.  Sometimes it feels like there isn’t even one moment to just sit and breathe. We make a to do list, cross things off one by one, only to find we think of other things and then add them to the list. It seems like no matter how hard we try we just can’t get ahead. The hustle and bustle of this life takes such a toll on us. It can affect us mentally and physically.

There is something that most of us miss. We don’t think about it or don’t know it.  There is One who calls us to lay our burdens down. There is One who will give us rest. There is One who has broad shoulders and can carry any weight with ease. He asks us to come to Him, lay our burdens at His feet, and He will give us rest. We just need to listen and answer the call.

I hear myself more and more these days saying, “it’s okay, I give it to Him”.  I am trying more and more to lay down my burdens at the feet of Jesus.  Trusting He can handle it better than I can.  Having faith that no matter what happens, He is in control, and it will all work out in the end. Give glory and praise to Him. Be at His feet and He will give you rest.

From now on, and forever, you can find me at the feet of Jesus.
