Whiter than Snow

Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.

Psalm 51:7 NKJV

Whiter Than Snow

A devotional for December 13th through the 19th

Snow.  A beautiful wet snowfall that coated the trees and blanketed the ground in white.  There is something so beautiful in how the world looks after a beautiful snowfall such as what we had here overnight Friday night.  Driving to church Sabbath morning was a wonderful reminder of the beauty God has created.  The above Bible verse immediately came to mind.  “Wash me and I will be whiter than snow”.  The desire of my heart.

A pretty, fresh snowfall makes the world look so beautiful and clean.  I love how the trees look with snow on their branches.  A pristine, untouched blanket of snow over a field and in the evergreens and trees is breathtaking.  It is almost like God if giving us a glimpse of what Heaven may look like.  Pure, clean, sparkling, whiter than snow.

We all need to be cleaned.  We all need to be washed.  Our sinful hearts need to be cleansed in a way that only God can do.  We must pray.  We must ask God to send the Holy Spirit to shower us with His righteousness.  To cleanse us and make us pure.  Only God can do this.  God wants us to be cleansed.  God will help us to be washed.  If we ask, pray, God will answer.  Little by little, as I discover things that need cleansed in my heart, I ask and God washes.  Little by little I feel I am becoming more the person God wants me to be.  I am in the midst of the snowfall and soon, I pray very soon, I will be whiter than snow.

Do you want to be made whiter than snow?  Ask with a loving, redeeming heart.
