Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;
What are you thankful for? As we start the week of Thanksgiving, I find myself pondering what I am thankful for. I actually think about this quite often. Many people are complaining and don't see much to be thankful for this year. This has been a rough year for everyone. So many things have happened to really impact life as we all knew it. It is even more important than ever to think about the things you are thankful for. Centering on the good, positive things in your life can lift us up. I know it does me.
There are so many things I am thankful for. I'm thankful for another year with my husband, going through life together. I was able to get a new job for the same wonderful company that I just love. I have a wonderful team I work with. I have my church family, friends, and family that I am very thankful for. I am thankful every morning when I wake up and take a breath. I know God has given me another day to serve Him. I pray every day that God uses me in some way to glorify Him. I want to serve God and pray I am doing what He wants me to do for His glory.
I am so grateful for spending time every day studying God's word with my husband over this past year. I see how much I have grown in my relationship with God. Studying God's word and learning more about God's truth has helped me to grow so much with Him. My relationship with God is even more important than my relationship with my husband. Having a good, solid relationship with God makes my married life richer. Making God your best friend, studying His word, growing your relationship with Him will make every part of your life in this world better. It brings me peace.
Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.
The thing that I am most thankful for is God's gift of grace to all of us. The gift of salvation. The gift of hope in an eternal life spent with God is one I find most precious. All we have to do is ask for forgiveness and do what Jesus said: "If you love Me, keep My commandments" John 14:15 NKJV.
So, what are you thankful for?
