He reveals deep and secret things; He knows what is in the darkness, and light dwells with Him.
Have you ever thought about God having hope? He does.
God knows everything, absolutely everything. When you read the Bible, all the various Bible stories throughout the Old Testament, read the Gospels and all of the New Testament, including Revelation, you will see something in particular weaved throughout it all. God’s plan for salvation, for redemption.
God knew from the beginning, the very beginning, from before He created the Earth in 6 days, God knew. God knew Eve would eat the forbidden fruit. God knew man would fall. God knew man would continually turn their backs to Him and seek the world instead of Him. God knew and planned for salvation. God knew He would come down as a tiny baby, grow to live a life as an example to all, and ultimately take on the sins of the world, sins from the past, present, and future, and die on a cross.
Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel.
Can you imagine? Knowing from centuries before that you would send yourself down to a fallen world as a baby. Sharing what you would do with prophets, asking them to write it down and to share it with the people. Knowing you will be beaten, pierced, and die on a cross. All to save this fallen race. All the while hoping that just one lost sheep would return and call you Lord. God did this. God still has hope.
God knows each of our hearts. God knows each of us better than we know ourselves. God knows who will choose Him, who will follow Him, who loves Him. God knows who will turn away, who will be deceived and follow the wrong path thinking it is His path. God knows. God has always known. From the beginning of time. God knows. And yet, God has hope.
God gave each of us free will. Because of this, God hopes. God continues to teach, speak, reach out. God hopes that even though He knows, He hopes you will choose Him, you will follow His word, you will show Him your love. God still hopes. God knows but he still hopes. What an amazing savior we have!
If God knows all and still has hope, why can’t we? Why can’t we have hope in a God that loves us so much that He would plan from the beginning of time to come down here, personally teach us, and die for us on a cross? Hope that what God promises will happen? Let’s show God He has a reason to hope. Let’s give God the best gift we can ever give Him! Give God your love, follow His guidance, show Him your love by living a life reflective of the life He led as Jesus! God has hope in us! We should have hope in Him!
Lift up your eyes on high, and see who has created these things, who brings out their host by number; He calls them all by name, by the greatness of His might and the strength of His power; not one is missing.
